The young German conductor Jasper Lecon impresses with his musical versatility and the creation of special musical projects in a broad spectrum from standard repertoire to opera and contemporary music. He is praised for his charismatic and exciting performances, with an “agile, powerful musical language that is free of airs and graces but permanently focuses on the finest nuances“ (Rheinpfalz Zeitung).

Since 2024 Jasper is a scholarship holder of the Conductors Forum of the German Music Council. He won the 2nd prize and the prize of the orchestra at the 2nd Kussevitzky International Conducting Competition, as well as the prize of the city of Matera at the 5th Nino Rota Conducting Competition.

Always looking for new and interesting forms of music, art and creative processes, Jasper is the founder and Musical Director of Jungen Kollektivs MusikTheater, where he has performed opera productions such as W.A. Mozarts Le nozze di Figaro, G. Puccinis Gianni Schicchi oder B. Brittens The Rape of Lucretia.

He conducted and worked with renowned orchestras such as the Orquestra Sinfonica do Porto, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Ensemble Modern, the Staatskapelle Weimar, and the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen.

Jasper was selected to participate in the masterclasses Campus Dirigieren and Zurück ans Pult of the German Music Council and took part in several other international master classes and festivals. He received impulses from Rüdiger Bohn, Douglas Bostock, Vassilis Christopoulos, Peter Eötvös, Mark Heron and Ekhart Wycik, among others.

As a lecturer, he conducted the orchestra of the University of Education Heidelberg and since 2023 he is conductor of the Orchestra of the Pforzheim University. Since 2019 he conducts the Strohgäu Sinfonieorchester Schwieberdingen.

Jasper studied music education at the University of Music Karlsruhe and orchestral conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim with Stefan Blunier.
